TxDOT plans more Belton lane closures

A new round of access-road lane closures in Belton starts Monday and ends Sept. 23.

The Texas Department of Transportation said James Construction Group will close various lanes of the eastbound U.S. Highway 190 frontage road from Connell Street to the Interstate 35 southbound frontage road.

Closures will be limited to 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays while crews work to complete this stage of the support-column caps for the new direct-connect flyover from northbound I-35 to westbound U.S. 190.

In addition, on Tuesday, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., eastbound Farm-to-Market 436 will be closed between the I-35 access roads so that crews, using a crane, can set forms for the U.S. 190 flyover cap. A detour will be in place, rerouting traffic to the Loop 121 crossover. Detour signs and message boards will be in place, and local law-enforcement officers will assist with traffic control.

Motorists are advised to observe all warning signs, traffic control devices, and public safety officers in the project area. I-35 frontage roads will be open.
