Area youth will get their chance to swing for the fences this week participating in Texas Teen-Age Baseball district tournaments in Killeen.

Three age divisions will be split among two sites, with the Senior Midget and Freshman Open Base teams competing at Lions Club Park and the Sophomore division at the Davis Athletic Complex.
In the Senior Midget (10-and-under) division, 12 teams will compete for the District 7 crown. They include six teams from Killeen along with two apiece from Copperas Cove, Harker Heights and Lampasas.
Four teams from Killeen and Cove will battle for the Freshman Open Base (12-and-under) District 5 title.
In the Sophomore division, five teams from Killeen, Heights and Cove will play for the District 5 crown.
The Freshman Open and Sophomore tournaments wrap up Wednesday, while the Senior Midget will run through Friday. The top two finishers from each district, per division, advance to the Texas Teen-Age state tournaments starting July 25.
