A full slate of College For Kids classes continue into July. Offered by the Central Texas College Continuing Education Department.

Registration is under way now for the following classes:

Robot Arms (age 9-13): Learn simple robot manipulation principles to design and construct three types of robotic manipulators. The class meets July 11-14 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $39.

Slippery, Slimy Science (age 5 and older): Become a mad scientist in training and learn some fun science stuff. Students will make ooze, a lava lamp, plastic milk worms and other slimy take-home projects. The class meets July 11-14 from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $69.

Temperature, Water and Weather, Oh My! (age 5 and older): Have fun making thermometers, barometers and a cloud in a bottle while learning about the water cycle and how it affects the weather. The class is July 18-21 from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $69.

Water Fitness (age 9-14): This class will help youngsters develop strength and flexibility while improving posture. The class is every Saturday, July 9-30, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the cost is $19.

Basic Theatrical Production (age 9-15): Learn the basics of putting on and performing in a play. Class focuses on movement, vocal and facial expression, casting and production techniques. The class is Monday through Friday, July 11-22, from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $65.

Creative Writers Workshop (age 13 and older): Explore and develop your creativity through the written word. Learn different writing styles and techniques using exercises to help improve skills. The class is July 11-14 from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $45.

Fundamentals of Cooking (age 12 and older): Learn how to handle food safely while mastering basic cooking techniques like grilling, pan-frying, baking and sautéing. The class is July 6-8 from 8 to 10 a.m. The cost is $39.

Comic Books (age 8 and older): Learn the fundamentals of creating your own comic book. Course focuses on exploring story lines, drawing, setting up the story, comic book layout and formatting. The class meets each Saturday, July 9-30, from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $39.

Creative Dramatics (age 5-8): This exciting class teaches students basic acting skills, storytelling and pantomime. The class meets July 7-8 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $19.

Chess Basics and Strategies (age 6 and older): Students will discover strategies and tips for winning in competitions or enjoying a leisurely game of chess. The class is July 11-14 from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $29. The Advanced Chess class for ages 8-14 meets July 18-21 from noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $39.

Poet’s Jam (age 9 and older): Learn how to express your creative self through poetry. Students will explore various types of poetry and learn how to use different environments to write. The class includes exercises to help develop imagination, creativity and spontaneity. The class is July 25-28 from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $45.

Picture This! (age 8 and older): Bring your imagination to life by creating story illustrations. Students will listen to a story and then draw images based on the story using watercolors, pencils, markers, crayons, gel pens and other media. The class is July 11-14 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $39.
