Killeen’s Stonetree Golf Club will welcome the 13th annual Starburst Junior Golf Classic today through Wednesday. About 1,050 golfers will compete, making this one of the largest youth tournaments in the world.

Golfers are boys and girls ages 7 to 18 who compete in various age categories and at different golf courses during the three-day tournament.

Stonetree is one of eight courses hosting the tournament.

“Stonetree’s facilities and course condition were major factors in our selection,” said Brad Baine, Stonetree’s director in a statement. “The city of Killeen has a tremendous asset in our course.”

In order to accommodate the competition, Stonetree is closed today and Tuesday until 3 p.m. and all day Wednesday.
