The city of Killeen is considering a possible annexation of Texas A&M University-Central Texas, with discussions slated to start at its workshop today.

If the new campus is annexed the acquisition would extend city limits by about 672 acres.  The property is located at the southwest intersection of Clear Creek Road and Sout Fort Hood Street.

While state universities are exempt from property taxes the city could stand to benefit economically.
